Ansh thanks his friend for the villa and praises the food and hospitality, attributing a network issue for a previous disconnect. The house helper becomes suspicious about Prem's status, wondering if he's the owner. Prem avoids the housekeeper, while Paritosh and Kinjal decide to give their relationship another chance, inspired by the resilience of people in Japan.
Prem waits for evening to leave, finds old belongings in the garden, and discovers a peacock feather, deciding to give it to Rahi. Rahi finds the feather and decides to keep it, later refusing to give it to Mahi. The Shahs celebrate Kinjal and Paritosh's anniversary, and Anupama hatches a plan to reveal Prem's truth, asking him to meet her.
Prem avoids a call from the villa owner and asks a cook to borrow coriander from Karem's house, raising Jogi's suspicions. Anupama learns about Gayatri's suicide and her children, Tintin and Tina. Rahi refuses to give Mahi the brooch, leading to Mahi's anger and Anupama's worry that she might do something drastic for Prem's love.
Prem insists Rahi accept his love, but she refuses due to Mahi. Mahi discovers Prem's feelings and locks herself in a room, prompting Anupama's concern.
Prem says it is fine if he doesn’t get his love and that he will live with the pain. He says just like she is stubborn, he is stubborn too. He says, just like you couldn’t become mine, I couldn’t become Mahi’s. Rahi asks if he will not do it for Mummy and says if something happens to Mahi, then Mummy will die. She begs him to agree. Prem leaves her hand. Baa scolds Anupama for letting a young guy stay in the house and says she wanted to open a dharamshala. Toshu says if anything had happened, then who would be responsible. Dolly says Kavya would have sent them to jail.
Anupama asks them to stop taunting her and says it is clear how much they all care about Mahi. Baa says they do care. Anupama asks if that’s true, then why didn’t anyone go to hug her or keep a hand on her head to ask how she is. Ansh says it’s Prem’s mistake.
Anupama says Prem is not wrong as she has seen Mahi going mad for him. She says it’s not Prem’s mistake, and it’s not Mahi’s either; her age is such. Pakhi says she is sure Prem is just passing time with both Rahi and Mahi and tells Anupama to ask Rahi.
Rahi overhears and tells Pakhi not to force her to misbehave. She tells her to stop blaming Mummy for everything. Anupama says she will talk to Mahi once everything calms down. She says until then, nobody should say anything to her.
Rahi comes to Anupama. Anupama says she feels helpless. She wants to give all the happiness in the world to Mahi but doesn’t know how, since Mahi wants Prem. She wonders how to make Prem love her.
Rahi says maybe Prem does like Mahi and might have spoken out of anger. Anupama asks if Prem said anything, if she heard anything, or if he has feelings for Mahi. She says she is sure Prem will never play with anyone’s feelings.
She says the image of Mahi trying to drown and pushing Rahi away so she wouldn’t be saved is still haunting her. She says if anything happens to Mahi, what will she do, as Mahi is someone’s responsibility.
She says Mahi asked her to talk to Prem, but she didn’t and now regrets it. She blames herself and says if anything happens to Mahi, it will be her fault. Rahi hugs and comforts her. She gives her water and makes her eat something. Anupama rests on her lap while Rahi sings a lullaby.
Anupama wakes up and says she will go check on Mahi. Rahi tells her to rest and says she will go. Anupama thanks her.
Rahi goes to Mahi’s room and sees her sleeping. She tells Mahi not to worry and says everything will be fine, that she will get Prem. She says even Kanha ji wants Mahi to have Prem and places a brooch on her pillow. She gently places her hand on Mahi’s head and gets emotional.
Prem returns home and comes to Anupama, who is resting. She opens her eyes and, thinking of Mahi, sees Prem and asks if he’s leaving forever. She tells him to be happy.
Prem gets emotional and rests his head on her lap. Anupama says she can’t force Mahi to stop loving him and can’t force him to love Mahi. She says it’s not his fault.
Prem says he has always treated Mahi the same way he treats Pari, Ishu, and Ansh. He says he never encouraged her feelings. Anupama agrees, saying she knows he’s the same with everyone, but not everyone treats Mahi the same way, and that’s where the misunderstanding came from.
She says she doesn’t want him to leave but doesn’t know how to stop him. She asks him to stay happy. As Prem turns to leave, he recalls Rahi’s words and asks Anupama if he can talk to Mahi because he understands the pain of love. Anupama nods. She prays to Kanha ji to make the right thing happen.
Rahi hugs Anupama and says maybe Prem does like Mahi, and friendship is the first step to love. She says anyone could fall in love with Mahi, and Prem will love her. Anupama says she just doesn’t want anything wrong to happen with Prem or Mahi. Rahi asks her to stay positive and thinks, Prem, don’t break our hopes.
Prem sees Mahi, who is upset and tearing a teddy. He recalls everything and tells himself to control his emotions. He knocks on her door and calls out to her.
Anupama says people talk about girls’ pain, but they forget that even boys suffer and feel helpless. She says she is scared for Prem, who hasn’t done anything wrong but is burdened by guilt. She says if anything had happened to Mahi, Prem’s life would have been ruined. She says nobody can force someone to love, and breaking someone’s heart leads to guilt. She doesn’t want Prem to act out of pity or pressure, as sympathy is not love.
Prem takes out money and gives it to Mahi as sadqa so nothing wrong happens to her. He sits down and says he never understood what his mistake was. He says he still feels sorry and didn’t realize when she developed feelings for him.
Mahi says even she didn’t realize when her feelings started. She says she can’t imagine her life without him, that life feels meaningless without him.
Prem apologizes if he gave her any wrong signals and swears he doesn’t feel the same. Mahi asks what’s wrong with her that he can’t love her. Prem tells her that’s enough.
